New Rochelle Barber Dies After Being Hit By 2 Cars

The incident occurred on Valentine's Day as he was crossing the street to head home.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A Queens man who worked as a barber in New Rochelle was hit by two cars on Valentine's Day. Vyacheslav Shaknmurov, 31, who was known as Steve at B&A Barber Shop, was crossing Main Street near Stephenson Boulevard Feb. 14 when he was struck by a westbound car and then an eastbound car.

He was taken to Jacobi Medical Center with critical injuries, the Journal News said.

New Rochelle police said he was taken off of life support Wednesday.

The incident is still under investigation, but both drivers have been cooperating.

There are no charges at this time, police said.
