The city is offering free parking at two municipal garages to help residents get their vehicles off the streets.

“Having fewer vehicles on the street will facilitate plowing operations,” he said.
To help car owners, the city will offer free parking at meter spaces in the New Roc and Transit Center garages beginning at 5 p.m. Monday until further notice.

Because the storm is anticipate to bring dangerous travel conditions, including slippery roads and whiteout conditions, Strome said all unnecessary travel should be avoided.
Public Works crews will be at work around the clock as conditions permit clearing the roads.
