New Rochelle Man Arrested on Drunk Driving Charge: State Police

Police said his blood alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A New Rochelle resident faces a drunk driving charge after he was stopped for a traffic violation on I-95.

State Police said on Jan. 15 Jorge L. Escobar, 29, was found to be intoxicated and was taken to the New Rochelle barracks for processing.

He was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and following too closely, a violation. His blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.21 percent — more than two time the legal limit.

Escobar was turned over to a sober third party and released to return to the City of New Rochelle Court Jan. 27.
