New Rochelle Receives Award for Financial Reporting

This is the 25th year in a row the city has been honored.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The City of New Rochelle was recently honored for financial reporting excellence.

The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting was awarded to the city by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for its fiscal year 2015 financial report.

This is the 25th consecutive year New Rochelle has received the award, the highest form of recognition in the area of government accounting and financial reporting, according to city spokeswoman.

“We commend our Finance Department for once again receiving such a distinguished honor,” said City Manager Charles B. Strome, III. “This award is a tribute to their professionalism and integrity.”

Finance Commissioner Tracy Yogman said the Certificate of Achievement was a significant accomplishment that recognizes the work of the entire staff.

The Government Finance Officers Association is a nonprofit professional association serving approximately 17,500 government finance professionals with offices in Chicago, Illinois and Washington, DC. The certificate has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the certificate.

The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting can be found on the City’s website, at the City Clerk’s office in City Hall or in the New Rochelle Public Library.
