New Rochelle Shooting: 2 Hospitalized following Tuesday Afternoon Incident

The shooting occurred near a daycare center. Neither man suffered life-threatening injuries.

One man was shot and another suffered a leg injury while trying to evade county police, following a shooting Tuesday afternoon in New Rochelle near the New Rochelle Daycare Nursery on Columbus Avenue, according to authorities.

While both men were hospitalized, neither suffered life-threatening injuries, writes The Journal News, and no other injuries were reported.

The incident began just before 1 p.m. when two SUVs pulled up to one another and shots were fired. The vehicles drove off, and the the shooting victim turned up at Mount Vernon Hospital a short while later.

The second vehicle was later spotted by county police and a passenger was apprehended after he jumped out of the SUV and tried to run away, according to authorities. He suffered the leg injury during the pursuit.
