NY Crime Stoppers Offers $2,500 Reward For Info On Horton Ave Killing

The money is for information that leads to the capture and conviction of Mtayari Z. Dixon, accused of killing a man in New Rochelle in Oct.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — New York State Crime Stoppers has announced that it is offering up to a $2,500 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction of 29-year-old Mtayari Z. Dixon, who shot and killed a male victim in the Horton Ave. area of New Rochelle on October 26, according to investigators.

Dixon is believed to have immediately fled the area on foot and was last seen boarding the northbound Metro-North train in New Rochelle and entering his Tresser Blvd. residence in Stamford, CT later that evening.

New Rochelle Police Department detectives recovered several 9mm casings from the scene, but the firearm used has not yet been located.

Dixon is not known to drive but may be using public transportation. He has ties to New Rochelle, Stamford, Georgia and South Carolina. Dixon also uses the aliases of "MT" and "MT Beats."

Officials advise caution if you encounter Dixon and ask that you contact your local police department.
