Participate in April 10 Blood Drive at New Rochelle Public Library

You could save a life.

The New Rochelle Public Library will host an American Red Cross Blood Drive on Friday.

It’s a way to give—to people who really need it. The American Red Cross Blood Services needs donations of blood from people like you.

The blood drive will be from 2–7 p.m., in the library’s meeting room and theater stage.

Why is it important to donate? Just one unit of blood can help save the lives of up to three people. For you, it’s just a few moments out of your day but for patients in need, it could save their lives. The Red Cross needs regular donations of all blood types. The rarest blood is the type which is not available when it’s needed.

Only 5 percent of the population donates blood; if only 10 percent would donate, that could very possibly
eliminate all blood shortages, Red Cross officials say.
