Players Who Cashed Tickets With Wrong Number Will Keep Winnings
The NY Lottery said money paid to players who already cashed non-winning tickets will be replaced by winnings that were never claimed.

NEW YORK — For just a few extra lucky players, a mistake by the New York Lottery worked out in their favor.
The New York Lottery said it has resumed processing Mega Millions tickets for the May 10, 2022 drawing.
Because a winning number was mistakenly entered, the New York Lottery paid a total of $5,538 to players who presented tickets with the incorrect winning number to retailers before 10 a.m. on May 11. This payment was recouped automatically from a lottery account holding uncashed winnings, according to officials.

The lottery cited "human error" for the rare mix-up.
Lottery officials said that following the May 10, Mega Millions drawing, a mistake resulted in incorrect "input" of the winning numbers, resulting in an incorrect publishing of the winning Mega Ball number.
Officials temporarily suspended prize payments for all Mega Millions tickets, but payouts have resumed at retail outlets.
The correct winning numbers for the May 10, drawing are: 15-19-20-61-70 with a Mega Ball number of 9.
Because the money came from unclaimed winnings, the lottery said there is no impact on aid to education or taxpayer funds that the New York Lottery supports.
