Severe Thunderstorms Possible in Hudson Valley Saturday Afternoon

The threat of severe weather diminishes Saturday night.

The Hudson Valley saw one round of showers and thunderstorms move through Saturday and we likely can expect more.

According to Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather said his timeline is for scattered strong to severe thunderstorms between 1 p.m. ad 5 p.m.

From 5 p.m. on, the threat of scattered thunderstorms diminishes.

The entire region remains under a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Saturday and Saturday night.

“The entire Hudson Valley remains under a “slight risk,” which means that there is roughly a 15 percent chance of a severe thunderstorm occurring within 25 miles of your location,” Potter said.

The National Weather Service said some of the storms could produce small hail and gusty winds.

The high for Saturday will be in the mid- to upper-70s, with overnight lows dipping to the mid-60s.
