ShopRite Contest Promotes Reusable Bags, Ending Hunger

The winning design will appear on the store's reusable bags.

ShopRite Partners in Caring has collaborated with General Mills for the second annual "Designed to Fight Hunger" contest.

The challenge is to create original designs that could be featured on a resuable shopping bag to raise awareness of the issue of hunger.

The winning design will be available on reusable bags in all 250 ShopRite locations, including New Rochelle. The grand prize winner will receive $2,500, along with a $2,500 donation to his or her local food bank.

"Raising awareness of the issue of hunger is at the heart of the mission of ShopRite Partners in Caring," said spokeswoman Christine Magyarits. "Our customers have always been dedicated to helping us in this mission and this contest is a great way to enlist their generous spirit in the fight against hunger."

The judge's panel will include last year's winner—Katrice Sylvester of New Jersey.

People can enter their unique designs at BagDesignContest.com. Entries must be submitted by December 31
