Suspects Filled Trash Bag At Clothing Store Before Fleeing: Police

Witnesses to the commotion were able to provide police with the license plate information of the suspects' getaway car.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — New Rochelle police have made arrests in connection to a brazen and violent shoplifting blitz at a local store.

The New Rochelle Police Department says that on Friday, at around 2:30 p.m., officers were called to Snipes Clothing on North Ave., after a report of a robbery.

The store manager told police that three suspects entered the store and loaded Nike clothing into a garbage bag.

As they were fleeing the scene, one of the suspects pushed the manager out of the way of the door before running south on North Ave., and then onto Morris St.

Witnesses on Morris St. who observed the commotion were able to help police by obtaining the license plate of the suspects’ car.

New Rochelle Police Department detectives, with the assistance of the Westchester County Police Real Time Crime Center, the Yonkers Police Department and the Mount Vernon Police Department, were able to develop leads eventually leading to the capture of all three suspects.

No injuries were reported from the robbery, according to cops.

32-year-old Richard Bailey, of Mount Vernon, was charged with felony second degree robbery.

39-year-old Charles Moye, of Yonkers, was charged with felony fourth degree criminal possession of stolen property.

40-year-old Curtis Thompson, of Mount Vernon, was charged with felony fourth degree criminal possession of stolen property.
