WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — County officials have extended the emergency travel ban that was set to expire at noon.

Bee-Line buses and Paratransit Service will be suspended for all of Monday, Feb. 23, and will resume on Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 4:30 a.m.

Due to ongoing hazardous road conditions caused by the winter storm, Westchester County is extending the current travel ban until 6 p.m. today, Feb. 23.

The road ban is being implemented due to hazardous winter weather conditions, including heavy snowfall and wind. Roads are closed to all but essential travel (police, fire, EMS, utility/public works, media and hospital/medical personnel), officials said.

The overnight blizzard conditions made keeping the roads possible to drive on a near impossible task. At least one Rivertown village ordered their plows off the roads during the height of the storm, citing near whiteout conditions near the Hudson River.
