
New Rochelle has wrapped up the paperwork for selling city property, including a roadway, to a company that builds diners.
DeRaffele Manufacturing purchased two city lots between Main Street and Nardozzi Place off Weyman Avenue for $600,000 for the purpose of building and operating a diner.
The City Council agreed to abandon the curved roadway connecting Main Street and Nardozzi Place and sell it to DeRaffele at its meeting June 11.

The city's Corporation Counsel Kathleen Gill said closing for the property took place June 12.
DeRaffele plans to join the two now-separated lots in order to create enough contiguous land for the diner and parking.

The approved site plan includes the addition of a traffic lane on Weyman Avenue from Main Street to Nardozzi Place to accommodate additional traffic. The developer will pay for all improvements.
