Wrap For A Cause Enlists Support for Operation Valiant Veterans
Nonprofit program provides educational and health resources for Veterans at Iona College and others

Since the launch of Operation Valiant Veterans by Wrap For A Cause two years ago, the program has raised awareness benefiting Veterans one mile at a time. The mobile marketing initiative partnered colleges and universities with Veterans’ focused charities to fight for the future health and safety of our nation’s men and women in uniform as they transition into civilian life. This Veterans Day, the program is in need of sponsors to continue its critical mission.
“It has been our greatest honor to raise awareness and funds to support Veterans as they pursue their educational goals,” said Laura Saggese, co-founder of Wrap For A Cause. “University programs and scholarships provide veteran students with a sense of community in conjunction with academic learning to address the unique needs of this population, but they require financial contributions.”
Saggese explains Wrap For A Cause covered college fleet vehicles at both Iona College and Pace University in New York in customized colorful decals featuring logos and hash tags of the sponsor and the Veterans programs. The vehicles are transformed into mobile billboards that increased visibility for both parties as they travel on campus and out-of-state for sports, admissions recruiting events and more.

Wrap For A Cause sponsorships cost between $5,000 and $10,000 per vehicle per month with a minimum three-month campaign commitment. One third of the sponsorship fee is given to the college or university, one third goes to charity, and one third goes to Wrap For A Cause, which is used for the cost of the design, manufacturing and application of the vinyl decals. Operation Valiant Veterans is seeking new corporate sponsors.
Offering assistance with education as a pathway to success for Veterans is what drew the attention of the Scherr Foundation to underwrite the Pace University campaign.

“Part of our mission statement aims to ‘honor those who dedicate their lives and make career choices that inherently add value to our society, and whose life work advances the greater good.’ Our Veterans have dedicated themselves to the greater good and we wish to honor their commitment by helping them pursue avenues that will support their efforts into the future,” said co-founder Robert Scherr.
At Iona College, funds are directed to the VETSports University program that focuses on securing scholarships, internships and career assistance for Veterans wanting to return to school. VETSports is a national nonprofit organization that provides Veterans with ways to continue serving their communities once they enter civilian life. The Wrap For A Cause van promotes VETSports in conjunction with the college and sponsor Country Bank.
Individual drivers can also use their personal vehicles to support Veterans. The vehicle wrapping business Nomad Wraps in West Palm Beach and Demented Graphics in Jupiter, FL are strong supporters of the Veterans’ suicide prevention organization Lutz Live to Tell Foundation. It was their desire to promote the foundation’s mission that secured a partnership with Wrap For A Cause, resulting in a U.S. military-themed 2013 Ford Mustang GT wrapped in Matte Military Green to look like a tank, the Lutz Live to Tell Foundation logo and the hashtag #Wrap4Veterans. The car travels to car shows and Veterans events across Florida.
Saggese notes that although the next Wrap For A Cause’s Operation Valiant Veterans campaign officially launches on November 11, people will see its patriotic vans well into the holiday season. Ten percent of Wrap for a Cause net proceeds from this partnership will be directed to VETSports.
“I firmly believe that we need to remember our Veterans all year round, and not just a few times a year,” said Saggese. “November is also National Non-Profit Month, and that’s all the more reason for people to donate until the end of the year.”
