• New York Cookie Chain Chip City Suddenly Closes All Stores (hudsonvalleypost.com) — North Babylon residents lost their local Chip City shop at 1148 Deer Park Avenue as the popular cookie chain abruptly closed all of its New York, New Jersey, and Texas locations on October 1 and 2. Former employees say they had no warning, and the company cites economic headwinds amid an internal lawsuit over unpaid compensation and federal loans.
