• Bellport shooting suspect at large; motive unknown (trihamletnews.com) — A North Bellport man was fatally shot at Robert Rowley Park, and Suffolk homicide detectives are still searching for the suspect, described as a Black male who fled in a red sedan. Local officials and community advocates are pushing new safety measures, social services, and increased patrols at the park, while police ask anyone with information to contact detectives or Crime Stoppers. 
• Developer seeks tax breaks for North Bellport affordable housing (newsday.com) — A Levittown developer is seeking 30 years of tax breaks and millions in exemptions to build a 96-unit affordable housing complex in North Bellport, with some units reserved for residents with developmental disabilities. Town leaders say the project, enabled by a 2022 rezoning, could help revitalize the neighborhood, but it still needs Brookhaven IDA approval after a public hearing.
