• Manhasset Community Fund awards $10K grant to LI charity to help provide food for families in need – The Long Island Times (litimes.org) — A $10,000 Manhasset Community Fund–Greentree Foundation grant will expand SNAP eligibility counseling for residents across the Town of North Hempstead, helping more families access food benefits. The Health & Welfare Council of Long Island will use the funds for free screenings, application help, and recertification support as food costs continue to strain local households. 
• Students awarded by Lakeville Estates Civic Association for volunteerism (longislandpress.com) — Four local high school graduates were honored with $1,000 scholarships for community service, with North Hempstead Town Supervisor Jennifer DeSena helping present the awards. Their volunteer work ranged from shoveling neighbors’ snow and maintaining free libraries to anti-bullying campaigns with Councilmember Christine Liu and supporting town events like the Polar Bear Plunge and St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
