• $3.5M Safety Improvement Project Underway At Busy Nassau County Intersection, NYSDOT Says (patch.com) — A $3.5 million state-funded project is now underway to improve safety and traffic flow at the Port Washington Boulevard and Middle Neck Road intersection in North Hempstead, by St. Francis Hospital. Crews will add sidewalks, new crosswalks, upgraded pedestrian signals, and reconfigured turning lanes, with work expected to finish by year’s end, affecting thousands of daily drivers and hospital visitors.
