The State of the Bays Symposium, presented by the Gobler Lab at Stony Brook Southampton, is an annual event that brings together leading scientists, local leaders, and community members to better understand the health of our coastal waters. It will highlight recent water quality and public health threats in coastal waters while also identifying innovative solutions to these complex problems.
This year’s message is clear: We are out of time to wait, but not out of solutions.

Introducing Stony Brook University's very own Esports Summer Program!In this five-day program, students will receive training for a game of their choice in either Rocket League or Valorant. Beginner and advanced players alike are welcome as coaching will be tailored to individual students and will provide high-level feedback to improve students' gameplay, game sense, and other skills needed to succeed in the esports world. Looking for something fun and social to do midweek in Southampton?
Wednesday Latin Night at The Studio is a relaxed, welcoming evening designed especially for adults who want to try dancing — even if they’ve never danced before.
Each Wednesday at 7:00 PM, we introduce a mix of salsa, bachata, tango, and other Latin styles in a friendly, social format. No partner is needed, and many people attend on their own.
This is not a performance class or a competitive environment. The focus is on enjoying the music, moving comfortably, and meeting people in a low-pressure setting.
What to expect:
