• 'Lifesaving': North Tonawanda Police credit school resource officers for saving student's life (wkbw.com) — A North Tonawanda high school student was seriously hurt after being struck by a car while riding an electric scooter at Nash Road and Meadow Drive, but quick action by school resource officers likely saved his life. Officers applied tourniquets to stop heavy bleeding until fire and EMS arrived, and the teen has since been discharged from the hospital. The officers will be formally honored at an upcoming city council meeting. 
• Digi Power X sued over noise from New York crypto mining site (datacenterdynamics.com) — Residents near the Digi Power X facility on Erie Avenue in North Tonawanda have filed a proposed class action lawsuit, claiming nonstop noise and vibrations from crypto mining have harmed their quality of life and property values. The suit seeks damages, noise relief, and medical monitoring, and comes as the plant faces separate state scrutiny over emissions and a local moratorium affecting its planned shift from crypto to high-performance computing.
