Charles Brancato arrested after pedestrian crash on Erie Avenue (newsline.com) — Eight pedestrians were injured, three seriously, when a 73-year-old driver allegedly drove drunk and hit people while leaving a parking spot at a car show on Erie Avenue in North Tonawanda. The crash at the American Harley Davidson event has led to DWI and reckless driving charges, and legal experts say victims may pursue civil claims to cover medical and other costs.

The analysis weighs affordability, economic health, education and health, quality of life, and safety, with Saratoga Springs cracking the nation’s top five while communities like Ithaca, Long Beach, and others are also compared.
   

3. Upstate and Western New York Fishing Report- October 1, 2026 (onthewater.com) — Anglers around North Tonawanda are seeing very good smallmouth bass action in the upper Niagara River, according to Niagara Outdoors, with leeches and golden shiners producing fish and occasional walleye. The tour celebrates decades of hits like “Sister Christian” while the group hints that new music may also be on the horizon.
