2018 Long Island Pumpkin Picking Guide
Here's a look at where to head for pumpkin picking and family fun this fall on Long Island.

LONG ISLAND, NY — The first day of fall conjures images of warm sweaters, Halloween festivities, cool nights — and pumpkin picking, a beloved annual tradition for countless families.
Patch has compiled a list of don't-miss places where Long Islanders can head for U-pick pumpkins galore, as well as fall festivals, hayrides, mazes, roasted corn, cider and more.

EAST END

- 19 Horse Mill Lane in Bridgehampton
- Fairview Farm is open for pumpkin picking through October from Thursday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with Monday holiday hours, too.
- The farm features the The MAiZE, an eight-acre maze; maze is open until Nov. 11.

- 6242 Middle Country Road in Wading River
- Fink's County Farm Festival runs Saturdays, Sunday and holidays through Oct. 28, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pumpkin picking open to the public from Monday to Friday from noon to 5 p.m.; check website to be sure U-pick is available. It is available on weekends but only to those attending the Fall Festival from 9:30 am. to 5:30 p.m. until Oct. 28.
- The fall festival features an animal farm, barnyard bouncer, pig races, playground, corn crib, combine slide, calf roping, character appearances, live music, corn cannon, face painting, fall photos, pumpkin slingshot, roasted corn, a kiddie train, and more.

Harbes Farm offers three locations, Harbes Family Farm in Mattituck, Harbes Farm in Jamesport, and Harbes Farm and Orchard in Riverhead.
The Harbes Pumpkin Festival takes place Sept. 29 and 30.
Mattituck South's U-Pick Pumpkin Patch is open Monday to Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekends and holidays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., through Oct. 30. It's located across the street from the Mattituck Farmstand.
The Mattituck Barnyard Pumpkin Patch is open weekends and Columbus Day 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Oct. 21.; it's located behind the Barnyard Adventure if entering through the Mattituck Farmstand, and also has a separate entrance off of Sound Avenue.
The Jamesport Pumpkin Patch is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Oct. 28.
The Harbes Orchard Pumpkin Patch at the Riverhead location is only open on weekends and holidays through Oct. 28.

- Gabrielsen's has a new location at 200 Herrick's Lane in Jamesport
- Gabrielsen's Country Farm features a Fall Festival, with admission including unlimited hay rides on weekends and holidays, unlimited choo-choo train rides on weekends and holidays, character visits, bouncy houses, a corn crib, kiddie maze, farm animals, a giant pumpkin, games area, restoration school house, old-fashioned church, pedal tractors, live music, a picnic area and more.
- Gabrielsen's is open 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. seven days a week, with pumpkin picking every day through early November.

- Hank's is open for pumpkin picking every day from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. through October 31. Apple picking, maze park and more open weekends and school holidays.

- U-pick every day but Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Lewins offers pick-your-own pumpkins, a corn maze, roasted corn and much more.

- 270 West Lane in Aquebogue
- Stakey's is open for pumpkin picking Mon. to Fri. from noon to 5 p.m., Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- The farm also features hay rides, pony rides, a bounce house, corn maze, face painting, snack shack, a country store and flower house.

- Pumpkin picking from the vine, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays in October through Columbus Day weekend and perhaps longer; call for availability in late October.
- Apple orchards, U-pick from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays in September and October. Take a wagon ride out into the orchards to pick apples; child-sized apple cider bottles are available to purchase for the kids, along with delicious donuts.
Wickham's Fruit Farm is an historic, bicentennial farm on Peconic Bay, and a family enterprise for generations. The retail market is open from May through December Monday through Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

- 56 Gnarled Hollow Road in East Setauket.
- Benner's is open for pumpkin picking weekends beginning Oct. 6 and 7. Entertainment and rides are also available as well as a Harvest Festival Oct. 20 and 21.

- Brightwaters Farms holds its Fall Harvest from Saturday, Sept. 29 through Sunday, Oct. 28 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.. The farm is open Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from noon to 5 p.m. and Saturdays, Sundays and Columbus Day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays. - 1500 E. Jericho Turnpike in Huntington.
- Elwood Pumpkin Farm is open for pumpkin picking from Sept. 22 through end of October. They are open Monday to Friday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays, Sundays and Columbus Day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Featured are pumpkin picking off the vine, hayride and a child corn maze.

- Glover Farms is open for pumpkin picking beginning Sept. 29 through the end of October from 2 to 6 p.m. on weekdays; Saturdays, Sundays and Columbus Day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The farm also features a corn maze.

- Schmitt's Family farm is open every day starting Sept. 29 to Oct. 28 for its Annual Fall Festival. Hayrides, farm animals, pony rides and a daytime corn maze, this year themed "Zombies," a Children's Haunted Mansion Walk Through, and an Nighttime Adult Haunted House are available on Saturdays, Sundays, and Columbus Day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with pumpkin picking daily.

- Celebrating its Annual Fall Festival from Sept. 22 to Oct. 28, White Post Farms is open on Saturdays and Sundays and on Columbus Day. Admission gates are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., but guests can stay until 6 p.m. Admission includes entertainment and games. The farm also features shows, pony rides, hayrides, and The White Post Animal Farm.
