$5K Withdrawn From Account Of LI Woman In Identity Theft Scam: Police
The bank refunded the money, police say.

PECONIC, NY — A Peconic woman was the victim of identity theft recently, police said.
The woman, 62, reported that the Bank of America had called her regarding the identity theft, Southold Town police said. Two ATM withdrawals of $2,500 each were made on March 9 in Bayside and Forest Hills in Queens, police said.
The woman said she has no relatives or any past experiences in Bayside or Forest Hills; she has since closed her old debit card and the bank has refunded her money, police said.
