Banner Year Of Giving For Eastern Long Island Hospital Auxiliary
The ELIH Auxiliary donated $555K in 2022 to Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital in a record-breaking year of giving.

NORTH FORK, NY — Dressed in pink jackets with bright smiles, Eastern Long Island Hospital Auxiliary members are a beloved and familiar site on the North Fork canvas, marching in the annual Maritime Festival parade and raising funds for the hospital's annual Dream Green raffle at the event.
The months and years of dedicated service paid off in a big way last year — the ELIH Auxiliary donated $555K to Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital in 2022. The donation is part of the Auxiliary’s total tally of more than $2.35 million in gifts over the last 5 years. The record-breaking year also marked the 65th anniversary of the volunteer services division of the ELIH Auxiliary, hospital officials said.
“I am both grateful and proud that the ELIH Auxiliary continues to support Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital,” said Paul J. Connor, chief administrative officer of SBELIH. “They continue to be an asset to the hospital and the community.”

The ELIH Auxiliary raises funds to support SBELIH throughout the year with events such as the Dream Green Extravaganza, a car/cash giveaway, and more. The Auxilians also operate the ELIH Auxiliary Opportunity Shop, a thrift shop in Greenport Village and, this year, will reopen the hospital’s gift shop.
The Auxiliary has raised nearly $20 million since its inception in 1905, outpacing all other similar groups that fundraise for hospitals throughout New York State, the group said.

Past donations have benefited the hospital through vital new equipment such as a new ventilator, as well helping to supplement operational costs that have had a direct impact on the programs and services SBELIH offers patients.
“The ELIH Auxiliary is thrilled to continue to support Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital,” said Auxiliary President Helene V. Fall. “Our volunteers love giving back to the hospital, which is such an important part of the North Fork community.”
