Garden Critters Part III...Laugh Yourself Silly

Wow, I love it when folks send me stuff. Nature photographer Carol McIntyre just matched my skunks with some AMAZING and hilarious photos of a very prolific North Fork critter.  Namely, raccoons. I’ve had some amazing encounters with these guys over the years myself. Most notable is a camping trip many moons ago, where a friend got ‘treed’ on a picnic table by a marauding gang of these masked bandits. They were trying to figure out where the remains of the chicken went we had roasted over the bonfire (NEVER try to burn the remains, apparently).

We’ve all had moments with squirrels raiding the bird feeder. McIntyre’s photos give a new twist to that principle. BTW: note the lovely globe thistles in most of the shots. I’ve been LOL all day. Anybody got possum shots? We had a big fat one sitting on our second floor porch one day (hmm), but were too shocked to break out a camera.
