North Fork Kicks Off Season of Festivals ... Share Your Favorite
Ongoing GARDEN PRIDE photo contest lets you share your favorite North Fork festival, commercial or home "garden spot"
Sun hats, banners, rows of veggies and perennials basking in the mid-day heat, guitars and keyboards, animals poised and groomed for the petting, yummy samples of the best in cheeses, dips, wines and cuisine the North Fork has to offer. The season of festivals is beginning from Riverhead to Orient and this weekend I took my turn participating at Sang Lee Farms with my garden novels on display. Around me, kids were playing with shiny gravel in the parking lot and oohing and aahing over chickens. Excited families were tasting all kinds of yummies grown with local hands. Group tours were going on to give folks an insight into what makes our neck of the woods the beautiful garden spot it is.
Gardening is both an art and a business in our corner of the world. And what a privilege it is to be a part of it.
Share photos of you enjoying your favorite spring and summer festivals that make the North Fork home. Send your jpegs (4x6, 300 DPI) to agriainc@msn.com and we'll include them in this blog's GARDEN PRIDE photo of the week contest. Or send along shots of your North Fork garden at its loveliest or most interesting. Think green.
