Obesity is on the Rise Again

Obesity in America is now at 34 percent, numbers increasing by 2030

By 2030, predictions are 40 percent of Americans will be obese or severely obese and right now about 34 percent of Americans already are.

From a personal point of view, my doctor basically told me to eat right and exercise for years to get my weight down, not good enough and though I can see a nutritionist, insurance will not pay for it unless I have diabetes which I don't understand at all. I have yet to get type two diabetes but I am at high risk, and my father has it which puts me even higher at a risk.

I am at high risk for not only diabetes but heart disease, high cholesterol and many more health problems. Now they have shows to try to help you lose weight but not everyone can get on a show and get the support and help needed and there is no diet pill, but yes there are other ways to diet.

When going on Weight Watchers over a decade ago I lost 80 pounds, weighed 159 pounds and looked great but now I am over that by far after having two kids and tragedy — it has been a hard road to maintain.

Both my children are skinny but as a child I was not, I have cut a lot of food out of my family's diet to try to eat better, but what will it take for overweight people to get the help needed? Now on airplanes they want you to pay for an extra seat if needed, or have they changed that — not sure it's been awhile since I have flown.

I have to tell you seats in banks are not made for the severely obese, and restaurant booths can be hard to come by, thankfully places I have gone to I have not had a problem but for the people who do I can only imagine how hard it must be, so as my weight soars, and my emotions go out of whack I have to say it only gets harder the heavier you get. But then again, it's easier to gain then it is to lose.
