Summer Months and Strawberry Festival
Camps, beaches, Strawberry Festival and the summer months are all here.
We're well into summer weather. We have some of the best beaches out here, one being Iron Pier in Jamesport as well as Veterns Memorial Park in Mattituck. The summer months of July and August are coming and we must all rush to get our stickers, swim at the beaches, and visit the parks.
Some schools are already out for the summer while most have about another week or so. So what are your plans for the summer? There are trails on the North Fork, horseback riding, and a lot of activities for children, not to mention summer camp, but if you haven't already signed up for summer camp, your chances are probably slim to get your children in to one as they fill up quickly.
The North Fork early learning center located in Laurel does offer a program for younger children and usually has spots available close to now, but they too may be filled up. I was driving the other day and saw lots of bike riders, enjoying the weather. I assume they were in some kind of race — they had tags on them across the North Fork.

Here come the air conditioners. It seems some people don't like heat, but when it snows they complain for summer months. You can't win either way, you really have to just be happy with what the weather man tells you and what God gives you.
This week: the Strawberry Festival, where all across the North Fork it will be packed coming from east and west. Many people will be attending, with rides and booths located in Mattituck on Sound Avenue. Gotta love the strawberries. I remember going one year and helping out at hull night. Father's Day is always on that Sunday while people go to church and come from church afterwards.

So enjoy the summer — the months will fly by before you know it. Your kids will be back in school, the years will go by and you will turn around and wonder where have the days gone.
