Acclaimed Pianist Magdalena Baczewska

World-renowned pianist, Magdalena Baczewska, who has mesmerized audiences throughout America, Europe and Asia, returns to the Jamesport Meeting House on Saturday, October 3 at 7:30 p.m. for her sixth performance at the historic venue. Described as "Columbia Professor by day, musical sorceress by night,” her program for the evening features compositions by Fryderyk Chopin, Henry Cowell, Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel, Franghiz Ali-Zadeh, Philip Glass, and Arvo Pärt. Dr. Baczewska is director of the Music Performance program at Columba University as well as a concert pianist who has performed with orchestras including the San Francisco Symphony and Philadelphia Orchestra and at venues such as Tanglewood Music Festival, Carnegie Hall and the Beijing National Center for the Performing Arts.
