Driver Injured After Crashing Into Pole: Officials

A driver was transported to the hospital after crashing into a pole in Mattituck Tuesday night, officials say.

MATTITUCK, NY — A driver was injured after crashing into a pole in Mattituck Tuesday night officials said.

According to officials at the scene, the crash took place at 6:32 p.m. at New Suffolk Ave. and Halls Creek Drive, taking down the pole and wires and knocking out power in the area. The Mattituck Fire Department responded to the scene.

The driver was transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center, officials said.

The road was closed until PSEG LI's arrival to secure the pole, officials said.
