Elbow East, Popular North Fork Eatery, Still On Market — And Open
The popular North Fork dining spot has not yet been sold, is still on the market, and is open for business, real estate agent says.

SOUTHOLD, NY — Despite some questions among longtime diners, Elbow East, an iconic longtime North Fork eatery known for its marinated steaks, surf and turf and sunset views, remains on the market.
Elbow East, located at 50 North Sea Drive in Southold, just steps from Kenney's beach, is listed with Town & Country Real Estate for $1,495,000.
According to Jeannmarie Bay, the real estate salesperson handling the listing, while the eatery was closed for the holiday and reopened Wednesday, it has not yet been sold and no contract has been signed. "It is very much still available," she said.

And, she added, it is very much open for business, so people hankering to tuck into a steak and shoot the breeze with regulars can still head on over.
Owner Billy Berliner told Patch in 2020 that the restaurant had been a staple on the North Fork for more than 30 years — and the time had come for his next chapter.

"I'm going to be 68 years old. What do I have left? Statistically, I have eight years left, unless I'm very lucky," he said at the time.
Berliner, who has a condo in Florida, added: "I'd rather die walking the beach down there than mopping the floor."
Still, he said: "It was a very tough decision. I love this business. I love this place. I love my customers and I love the North Fork."
Born at Eastern Long Island Hospital, Berliner said his roots run deep. "But at some point, I'd like to put my feet up," he said.
Berliner said he would remain in business until a buyer was found.
"Southold, well-established restaurant in business 33 years, popular destination for tourists and locals. Close to Long Island Sound Beach. A great location to make your mark in the restaurant business on the North Fork," the Town & Country Real Estate listing said. The 2,100 square foot space is sited on 0.53 acres.
