Seinfeld and Cheers writer, Tom Leopold brings his new one-man show to Shelter Island – with special guest, Bill Persky, a five-time Emmy Award winning writer, director and producer.
Full of laughter and surprises, this new one-man show tells of Leopold’s hilarious journey to through the minefields of comedy writing, which began for him with the National Lampoon magazine. He began television sketch comedy writing on The Chevy Chase Show, followed by The T.V. Show where he also performed with Richard Belzer, Christopher Guest, Michael McKean, Martin Mull, Rob Reiner and Harry Shearer.
In Addition to Seinfeld and Cheers, he has been a producer, story editor and writer on a number of top American television programs, including Caroline in the City, Ellen, Hope & Faith, and Will & Grace.

Leopold has written two novels, Almost like Being Here and Somebody Sing, the first of which was produced as a stage play in Chicago. In 2008, with Bob Sand, he published a biography of a mythical comedy writing team, Milt & Marty: The Longest Lasting & Least Successful Comedy Writing Duo in Show Biz History.
Special guest and fellow storyteller Bill Persky adds to the hilarious anecdotes and behind-the-scenes stories about writing comedy. Persky began his career writing for a variety of shows headlined by Steve Allen, Andy Williams, Julie Andrews and Joey Bishop and for McHale’s Navy until he found a home on The Dick Van Dyke Show, where he was mentored by Carl Reiner. He went on to create the Marlo Thomas series, That Girl and was the head writer-producer-director of the award-winning series, Kate & Allie.
