Former Southold Town Court Clerk Christine Stulsky Denied Medical Coverage
The Town decided earlier this month to receive her resignation and deny her coverage.

Southold Town denied a bid by Christine Stulsky, a former justice court clerk who stole $231,000 in fines and bail money from the town court, to receive continued medical coverage, according to a report in SoutholdLocal.
The town held a hearing earlier this month where officials decided to receive Stulsky’s resignation, according to the report.
“The contract only provides for continued medical coverage for vested employees who retire from service to the town. Per the contract, we do not believe she is entitled to medical coverage,” Southold Town Supervisor Scott Russell told SoutholdLocal.

Earlier this month, Stulsky was sentenced to six months in jail and five years probation with drug and psychiatric conditions by State Supreme Court Justice John Collins earlier, according to the DA.
She is also required to pay the stolen money back in full and made a $50,000 payment in January, the DA said.

By taking the plea deal and avoiding indictment, Stulsky got her sentenced reduced from five to 15 years in prison, according to SoutholdLocal.
“We are relieved that this issue has come to an end,” Russell told SoutholdLocal. “We look forward to implementing new policies and procedures to ensure that acts like these don’t ever take place again.”
