GREENPORT, NY — Neighbors and friends are coming together to help a Greenport man who was seriously injured in two-car crash in Mattituck last week.

A man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after the crash that left Cesilio Rodriguez Luna, 52, injured, police said.

A GoFundMe page, "Cesilio Rodriguez Luna," was created by Sarah Mazzaferro, who said her neighbor and friend was hurt in the "horrific" crash; he had to be extracted from his vehicle, she said.

A donation of any amount would be greatly appreciated and would be used for medical bills, lost wages, and a new work vehicle, Mazzaferro said. "Please support our community member and his family during this critical time," she added.

Bartosz Debowski, 43, of Calverton, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after the two-vehicle crash on Jan. 5, a representative for Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney said.

According to the DA's office, Debowski was driving a 2021 Dodge Ram pickup when he reportedly ran a stop sign and was T-boned by a 2001 Chevy pickup at the intersection of Mill Road and County Road 48 at 7:22 p.m.

Rodriguez Luna, the driver of the pickup, was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries, the DA's office said.

Debowski refused a Breathalyzer test; he was taken to Eastern Long Island Hospital where he also refused a blood test, the DA said. A warrant was sought and obtained for that test and the results are still pending, the DA's office said.

Debowski was arraigned virtually at the hospital and placed on supervised release with alcohol conditions; his next court date is January 12, the DA's office said.
