Funeral Arrangements Set for Frank McBride, 34, Who Died in Tragic Train Accident

The Cutchogue Fire Department said Frank McBride carried on a long tradition of dedicated service.

NORTH FORK, NY - Hearts are heavy on the North Fork as funeral arrangements were announced Thursday for Frank H. McBride, who died tragically Tuesday after his pickup was hit by a Long Island Rail Road train.

The Cutchogue Fire Department released details regarding funeral arrangements on Thursday.

"It is with great sadness that the Cutchogue Fire Department Announces that Firefighter Frank H. McBride has answered his last alarm," fire department members wrote.

"Frank passed away suddenly on March 22 at the age of 34 after being involved in a traffic accident. Frankie served the Department for the past 16 years carrying on a McBride family tradition. He followed in the footsteps of his grandfather Mickey, and has served alongside his father Richie, brother Michael and numerous uncles and cousins within the department."

Visitation:
Monday March 28 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Coster-Heppner Funeral Home located on Route 25 in Cutchogue.

A firematic service will be held Monday evening at 7:30 p.m. All firefighters attending are asked to wear Class A uniforms.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 29 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Ostrabrama Church on Depot Lane in Cutchogue with Fire Department Honors.

Interment to follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery.

After their unspeakable loss, friends and family remembered McBride for his beautiful smile, open heart, and generosity of spirit; they spoke of laughing with him at the transfer station in Southold, a familiar face that will be missed forever.
