Greenport Fire Department Plans Upgrade To Firehouse
Chief Harry Breese requested a meeting between the Greenport Village Board and fire department trustees during Monday's work session.

The Greenport Fire Department is planning to upgrade their current firehouse located at 236 3rd Street.
At a Greenport Village Board work session earlier this week, Chief Harry Breese requested a future meeting of the board and fire department trustees to discuss the renovation options, The Suffolk Times reports.
According to the agenda from the session, H2M architects + engineers drafted three options for the renovations:

- Option one is an infrastructure and building upgrade work and would cost $1,987,621.
- Option two is an addition and alterations to the headquarters at $3,857,242.
- Option three is a completely new headquarters to be built on the same site at $7,161,468.
However these costs are a “ballpark figure” and have been prepared with no ”formal programming process or schematic design phase process” according to a letter to the chief from H2M architects + engineers.
There is no set date for the joint meeting and the subject was not discussed at the Monday meeting, The Suffolk Times reports.
