Greenport Harbor Brewery's Annual Chili Cook-Off Coming Soon
For the first time, local fire departments will also compete.

NORTH FORK, NY — The Greenport Harbor Brewery Company's Annual North Fork Chili Cook-Off is set to bring the community together again soon for some spicy hot goodness during the frosty season.
The event is slated to take place at the brewery's Peconic location at 42155 Main Road on Sunday, Feb. 4, from noon to 4 p.m. The date marks the sixth year of the North Fork Chili Cook-Off; the event was canceled in 2021 due to COVID.
"This fun competition was created to celebrate the local eateries who support the brewery all year long and to provide a delicious community get together during a 'chilly' time of year," organizers said.

This year’s participants include Alpina, Biggie’s, Ellen’s on Front, Lucharitos, Green Hill Kitchen,
Little Creek Oysters, Little Fish and Port. They will be vying for two awards: the Judge’s Choice
Award, plus the People’s Choice Award that is voted upon by all those who attend the event.

For the first time, local fire departments will also be participating with their own special chili
recipes and looking to vie for their own Judge’s Choice and People’s Choice
Awards, organizers said.
Albie DeKerillis, First Assistant Chief of the Greenport Fire Department and 30-year member of
Standard Hose Company said he's looking forward to the competition. "As a former graduate of the Cordon Bleu de Paris, cooking has always been a passion of mine," he said. "While I can put together some great meals and delicious pastries, I’ve not yet tried my hand at making a killer chili. So I am really excited for this year's First Responders’ Trophy Competition at the Greenport Harbor Brewing Co.'s North Fork Chili Cook-Off."
Judges will include food television producer Sarah Mastrocco; Luchi Masliah, chef/ proprietor of Goodfood; Chris Kar, head chef at The Dimon Estate; Ryan Hardy, chef, founder and CEO of the Delicious Hospitality Group (DHG); and Leanne Weber, lead bartender of Greenport Harbor Brewing Co. and Chili Cook-Off champion.
In addition, the brewery team is creating a Hot Sauce IPA brewed with locally grown Thai Bird chili peppers "to spice up the event," organizers said.
A wide variety of other craft beers, local wines and canned cocktails will also be available.
Tickets cost $25, plus tax and fees, and include entry into the event plus "all the chili your
