Halloween Scare: Resident Finds Burglar In Living Room: Cops
A resident came home to a Halloween scare — a burglar in the living room, police say.

GREENPORT, NY — A Greenport resident got home to a big Halloween scare — a burglar in the living room, police said.
According to Southold Town Police, the incident took place at 3:03 p.m. on Oct. 31 on Wiggins St., when the resident got home and found Anthony Chance, 38, of East Marion, in the living room.
Chance left the scene and returned a short time later upon arrival of police, authorities said. Upon further investigation it was determined that Chance had stolen a checkbook and $200 in cash from the residence, police said.

Chance was arrested and charged with burglary/ illegal entry in a dwelling, police said.
He was transported to Southold Police headquarters, where he was processed and held for arraignment, police said.
