Intoxicated Man On Bus Punches Passenger, Tries To Hit Police: PD
He was arrested Friday in Greenport, police say.
NORTH FORK, NY — A Mohegan Lake, NY man was arrested Friday in Greenport after he punched a passenger on the bus and tried to hit Southold Town Police personnel, authorities said.
According to Southold Town Police, the incident took place at 6 p.m. on 1st Street in Greenport Village when Charles Pell, 57, who was intoxicated on the S-92 bus, refused to get off the bus after punching another passenger.
The passenger was treated by Greenport Fire Department responders and transported to Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital for further evaluation, police said.

While being interviewed, Pell was combative and attempted to punch the Southold Town Police Department personnel, authorities said.
He was placed under arrest and charged with disorderly conduct: fight/violent behavior; disorderly conduct: obscene language/ gestures; second-degree harassment, physical contact; and resisting arrest, police said.

Pell was processed at Southold Town Police headquarters and released on an appearance ticket, police said.
