An Open House, good idea or not...in my mind the best idea whether you are a seller or a buyer......
This past weekend the folks were out doing open houses and attending Open Houses, reports of extending hours in Greenport to houses with multiple buyers roaming the premises at the same time.
Open Houses are good for sellers and buyers.
For the sellers it makes the house more available for folks to see, it usually is supported by a special advertising package so it does a good job of getting the word out, I am a serious seller!!
For buyers it's a good deal because you can visit many houses on the same day and get a good idea of the market and the houses in particular. It's also a good time to meet several agents, get an idea on their style and strengths so you can identify an agent you would like to work with.
Of course you don't need to work with an agent because he/she is running the Open House, pick an agent you feel comfortable with and let them be your rep.
