MTA: Buses To Replace Trains From Ronkonkoma To Greenport On Columbus Day

On Columbus Day, four eastbound and three westbound trains will be replaced by bus service between Ronkonkoma and Greenport.

Buses will replace trains between Ronkonkoma and Greenport on Columbus Day, Monday, Oct. 14 so that Long Island Rail Road workers can renew of grade crossings and install new railroad ties along the single track route.

The Columbus Day outage is an extension of the shorter Monday to Friday midday outage currently in effect for this track work program.

On Columbus Day, train service will be suspended at 7 a.m. and the buses will operate until the work is completed and train service resumes with the departure of the 6:53 p.m. eastbound train from Ronkonkoma. In all, four eastbound and three westbound trains are being replaced by bus service.

Westbound

Customers will board buses at stations Greenport through Medford up to 10 minutes earlier than normal train departure times for travel to Ronkonkoma where they will board to continue their journey west.

Eastbound

Customers will board buses at Ronkonkoma for stations Medford through Greenport.
