Netflix Movie Starring Mila Kunis Filming On Shelter Island
"Luckiest Girl Alive" was filming Tuesday at the North Ferry terminal on Shelter Island.

SHELTER ISLAND, NY — The North Ferry terminal was abuzz Tuesday as actress Mila Kunis and others filmed a scene from the new Netflix movie, "Luckiest Girl Alive."
According to multiple sources at the scene, Kunis was filming near a vintage black Land Rover.
Earlier in the day, Moores Lane in Greenport was used for vehicles involved in the production to park, village officials said, adding that they would be using the spot for one day only.

The ferry terminal was transformed for the day into Nantucket, with a large sign stating, "Nantucket Ferry Terminal Welcomes You: Boats to Hyannis and Nantucket. Ticket information inside."
Nicole and Jason Barkley of Southold, who own North Fork Tent, were able to participate in the fun: "Finally made it to Nantucket! Just kidding — I wish!" Jason wrote on Facebook. "It’s a movie shoot for the Netflix movie 'Luckiest Girl Alive' with Mila Kunis at the Shelter Island ferry. This itsy bitsy company set up a tent for them."

The tent was used for cast and crew to eat beneath during breaks, Barkley said.
Word on the street was that filming could take place in Orient Wednesday but that was not confirmed and Netflix did not immediately return a request for comment.
Still, North Fork residents were thrilled to see filming in their sleepy corner of the world.
Joyce Grigonis said a crew member from the show visited Clarke's Garden and Home Monday to purchase flowers for the set.
Ian Hunter of Southold came upon the filming as he returned home on the ferry from Shelter Island to the North Fork. "It was really cool," he said. Hunter watched for a while as he headed to the ferry office to purchase tokens. The filming was taking place right in the parking lot, he said. "I glanced at that sign and I said, 'Oh, this isn't Nantucket!' It was really neat."

A release for Netflix said that the film is based on author Jessica Knoll's New York Times bestselling novel of the same name. The film stars Kunis, known for "Bad Moms," "Forgetting Sarah Marshall," and "Black Swan," and is directed by Mike Barker, of "Black Match, "The Handmaid's Tale," and "Fargo."
