Nominees For The 2015 Teeny Awards Announced

The awards are given to the theatrical productions presented by the 16 participating East End high schools.

East End Arts recently announced the nominees for the 2015 Teeny Awards.

The awards are give to the theatrical productions presented by the 16 participating East End high schools that have been attended and reviewed by a panel of volunteer judges.

The Teeny Awards, based on the Antoinette Perry Awards (The Tony Awards) for Broadway shows, has been celebrating excellence in high school theater across the East End of Long Island since 2002, and is presented and coordinated by East End Arts.

The top five scoring students are the nominees.

A formal awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, June 7, at Center Moriches High School, located at 311 Frowein Road in Center Moriches, commencing with a red carpet at 1:30 p.m. and the ceremony kicks off at 3 p.m., hosted by radio personality, broadcaster, host and interviewer, Walker Vreeland, during which the winners will be announced.

Adult tickets are $20 in advance (must purchase by 5 p.m. on June 5), and $25 at the door; student tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Center Moriches High School is located at 311 Frowein Rd, Center Moriches NY

This year, the recipient is The Ancestors from “The Addams Family” at Pierson High School.
