Palumbo Victorious in Race for 2nd State Assembly District, Unofficial Results Say

Anthony Palumbo, a Republican running again to keep his seat as New York State Assemblyman, has been re-elected, besting his opponent Michael Conroy.
Palumbo defeated Democrat Controy in therace for the 2nd State Assembly District seat, according to unofficial results from the Suffolk Board of Elections, which as Palumbo winning by a wide margin of 67.63 percent to 32.3 percent, with all but one district reporting.
Palumbo is a local attorney with a practice in Mattituck and a former Suffolk County prosecutor.

He said he supports small business and does not agree with raising the minimum wage.
Accomplishments include the bill for a first time homeowner's exemption from the CPF tax, and said he spoke about his efforts to fight back against the heroin epidemic among young people.

Conroy has not been actively campaigning.
