CUTCHOGUE, NY — School days, school days, those dear old Golden Rule days started in earnest Wednesday morning as students at Cutchogue East Elementary School headed back with smiles and excitement.
Greeted by Mattituck-Cutchogue Union Free School Superintendent Dr. Anne Smith and Cutchogue East Elementary School Principal Kathleen Devine, the kids filed off big yellow buses and were met at the doors by cheerful staff and teachers, who were carrying big signs with grade numbers to help students find their classrooms.
Some parents and grandparents who accompanied the little ones to school reflected on attending the same district many years ago, and remarked on all the positive changes and improvements the district has seen.
