Photos: Spirits High Despite Frosty Temps at Greenport Fire Department's Presidents' Day Parade
2016 marks the Greenport parade's 171st year.
Frosty temps meant nothing to the fire departments who turned out to march with fierce pride in the171st annual Greenport Fire Department Presidents’ Day Parade.
Fire departments from across the entire East End and Long Island were represented in the parade.
Residents bundled up to ward off the cold, waving happily win a show of community spirit and gratitude to firefighters who turned out for the event, a beloved annual tradition. After the parade, crowds headed to the Greenport Fire Department for homemade chowder, hot dogs, and treats for the kids.
