Planned Greenport Power Outage Rescheduled for Early Thursday
A test had to be rescheduled due to difficulties the first time around, village officials said.

NORTH FORK, NY - A planned power outage for Greenport residents has been rescheduled for Thursday, March 3, at 3 a.m.
The test was initially slated for last Friday at 3 a.m., but had to be rescheduled.
According to the Village of Greenport, there were difficulties experienced during the transfer of load from one transformer to the other. While some customers lost power for an hour, others did not.

“The cause of the problems has not yet been determined, and the village is working to finalize the issues and affect any necessary repairs,” a statement read.
The outage, which is necessary for equipment testing, is not expected to last more than one hour for any one customer.

Village residents are asked to take any special precautions for those whose medical equipment might be affected by the outage.
“We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation,” village officials said in a release.
