Police Identify Pedestrian Struck in Mattituck: Cops

BREAKING: The man was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center for treatment, police said.

MATTITUCK, NY — Police have identified the pedestrian struck on Route 25 in Mattituck on Easter night.

According to Southold Town Police, Ismael Ochoa, 50, of Mattituck, was crossing Route 25 after getting off the S-92 bus. He crossed in front of the path of a 2011 Acura SUV and was struck.

The Acura was driven by Alan J. Horowitz, 58, of Syosset, who was heading west on Route 25, police said.

Ochoa suffered serious injuries and was treated by Mattituck Fire Rescue and transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center, police said.

The pedestrian was struck at 7:45 p.m. Sunday night.

"The pedestrian has serious injuries," Southold Town Police Chief Martin Flatley said at the time.
