Police: Southold Man Arrested on Drug Charges in Greenport

A Southold man was arrested for having drugs in his car in Greenport early Tuesday morning, according to Southold Town Police said.

Victor Perez, 22, was stopped for traffic infraction on Front Street in Greenport shortly after 3:15 a.m., police said.

During the interview, the officer smelled heavy odor of marijuana, police said.

Perez consented to search of his vehicle, police said.

Officers seized two marijuana bongs, a scale, small amount of marijuana, and several prescription pills that Perez did not have prescribed to him, according to police.

Perez was arrested for criminal possession of a control substance and transported to headquarters where he was processed and lodged to await arraignment.
