Police: Town Supervisor Scott Russell Involved in Single-Car Accident
Scott Russell's car rolled over in Cutchogue Monday night, police said.

Southold Town Supervisor Scott Russell was involved in an car accident Monday night in which his vehicle rolled over in Cutchogue, according to Southold Town Police.
Russell, 50, of Cutchogue, was operating a 2014 Ford Escape south on Skunk Lane near Haywaters Drive at about 9:30 p.m., when he reported sliding on wet leaves in the roadway which caused his vehicle to slide off the roadway, police said.
Once off the roadway, the SUV struck shrubbery, rolled and came to a rest on the driver’s side, police said. Russell was able to extricate himself from the vehicle prior to the arrival of emergency personnel, police said.

He was treated at the scene by Cutchogue Fire Department rescue personnel.
