REBEL music all day Monday and Tuesday on WPKN

On June 17- 18, we bring you two days of music--songs you know and obscure gems we've found for you--inspired by groups, bands and musicians who've been agents of change, both politically and socially. These artists have used their voices, instruments, writings, and energy to help foster a heightened awareness of social and political issues of the day. In typical WPKN fashion, our programmers will bring an unpredictable spectrum of musical genres from jazz to folk; rock to soul; punk to world; and more. Think civil and women’s rights; Black power; Native American issues; and anti-war music from the eras of WWI, WW2, Vietnam, Iraq, etc.

AND, WPKN is offering terrific premiums including Woody Guthrie at 100; Classic Labor Songs;Liberation-Spiritual Jazz and the Art of Protest; The Best of Broadside 19b62-1988 (5 CD box set) and many more

AND a t-shirt specially designed for this WPKN rebel fest!
