Robbery At Mattituck Baseball Field: Cops
Two thieves stole a cell phone and a silver necklace; a person was found hiding in the reeds, police say.
MATTITUCK, NY – Police are investigating a robbery at the baseball field on Bay Avenue in Mattituck, police said.
According to Southold Town Police, the incident took place Wednesday at 4:04 p.m.; the person robbed said two males ran off with his cell phone and a silver necklace.
Southold Town Police patrol officers along with K-9 officers from Riverhead Police Department searched the area near Rochelle Place where someone was located hiding in the reeds; that individual was taken into custody and transported to Southold Town Police headquarters for further questioning, police said.
